Instruments of Unity

 

There are four "instruments of unity" that discuss issues impacting Anglicanism and often issue statements of decisions. These statements are more counsels than decrees, but they are taken seriously by Anglican churches around the world. As is put by The Windsorf Report: "Very early on in the life of the emerging Anglican Churches, it became clear that there would need to be mechanisms by which the Churches could take common counsel. These have become the core structures of the Anglican Communion, together known as the Instruments of Unity." These four instruments are:

Primates Meeting
Anglican Consultative Council
The Archbishop of Canterbury
